Meadow volunteers have been turning over the grass in the meadows to make scrapes & mounds.
This varies the habitat for butterfly’s, bees and other bugs.
Joe Beale, local botanist, reported that at the last Blackheath intersect more butterflies were spotted on the varied habitat of scrapes and mounds than the swathes of ‘wildflower’ borders.
